Can’t Wait for … Miracles and Menorahs by Stacey Agdern

There are a few things that automatically make me perk up when reading a blurb for a book—certain plots, character traits, or other bits that make a book instantly something I want to check out. Recently, I stumbled across a future release that involves two of my favorite things: a plot that revolves around a festival and a holiday backdrop. There’s something so much fun about the hustle and bustle and sense of community that stems from festivals, and I love when a holiday is mixed in because they’re a time of big emotions and—when romance is involved—ramped up sweetness. The one downside to finding this seemingly perfect read? We still have a couple of weeks before its official release. I can’t wait.

Today I’m waiting for…

From the publisher:

Sarah Goldman loves Hanukkah, and she’s thrilled to be appointed as vice chair of the Hollowville Hanukkah Festival. So when the festival is threatened with cancellation, she comes up with an idea: a new slogan and advertising campaign topped off with a metal menorah large enough to fill the center of town. But even though her heart and dreams are large, the committee’s budget constraints threaten to stop her grand plans right in their tracks.

Famous metal sculptor Isaac Lieberman also loves Hanukkah. But his vision of a perfect Hanukkah isn’t a commercial community event—it’s spending time with family, following age-old traditions. He’s not interested in the festival, no matter how many times his grandmother, his bubbe, asks him to contribute one of his sculptures.

Then Sarah comes tumbling into his life…can she change his mind about more than just the holidays?

  1. So… a series of… what sounds like romance novels… surrounding Jewish holidays? Well, that’s interesting! Different, for sure. By the way, I have a friend who is a female rabbi and she’s written three murder mystery books that surround Jewish holidays. They’re really fun!

  2. I like the sounds of this one Christopher. I have been reading a lot of Christmas romances, this sounds like a wonderful addition to holiday romance. I will have to watch for this one.
