Well, I told myself I would only participate in one reading challenge next year, but I should know better than to make a promise that would deprive me of books. Thanks to the wonderful Jonetta at Blue Mood Café, I discovered the 2019 Library Love Challenge hosted by Angel at Angel’s Guilty Pleasures.

Some Guidelines:
- Runs January 1, 2019 – December 31, 2019. You can join at any time.
- Put up a post on your blog about the challenge or dedicate a shelf on Goodreads or LibraryThing.
- Read at least 12 books from the library. There’s no maximum or limit, so keep those librarians busy.
- All formats (print, e-books, or audiobooks, etc.) are welcome. If it came from the library, it counts.
- No genre shaming here. Read whatever you want.
- Crossovers with other challenges are allowed, including re-reads.
- Use #LibraryLoveChallenge when sharing reviews, library pictures, etc.
- There’s also a giveaway, if you need more incentive.
Levels:
- Dewey Decimal: Read 12 books
- Thrifty Reader: Read 24 books
- Overdrive Junkie: Read 36 books
- Library Addict: Read 48 books
- Library Card on Fire: Read 60+ books
I’m dedicated to my public library— got the MLIS, the cardigan, and everything. So I’m aiming for Library Card on Fire … We’ll see how this goes. Anyone else planning on over 60 checkouts next year? Sign up here.
Even if you don’t choose to participate in this challenge, be sure to support your local library in 2019 and beyond. And happy reading!
I saw this on her blog and thought that I should do it. I’m glad that you are! I’m afraid of over committing on the challenges but, on the other hand, I’m already reading library books, right. 😉

Aha, that’s exactly how I had to justify this one. I’m there at least weekly anyway, so I figured I could squeeze this one in. I do hope you end up doing this, too!

And thank you for alerting me to this! Looking forward to seeing such a celebration of public libraries next year.

This is me already! I read too much to afford to buy my books. Probably 97% of what I read is from the library or ILL.

I’m the same! Thank goodness for public libraries or I would never have enough to read.

Right? Who doesn’t want to spread a little library love?

I’ve listened to library audiobooks all month! Defiantly want to spread the love. ❤️

Wonderful idea! My libraries a bit far away but it’s a year and this would give me the excuse to go!

That’s a shame your libraries aren’t more accessible, but hopefully the thrill of the challenge will make it worth the trek!

Thank you for sharing! This is such a fun challenge. I love my library and barely buy any books anymore. I am a member to three of the local libraries in the area because they all have something different to offer. Actually the only time I really buy books is during the library book sales. I get all the books I want to own while supporting the libraries.

Reading so much library love surrounding this challenge warms my heart. Public libraries are the best, and I’m in mine pretty much weekly. Kind of jealous you get to choose from three local ones, though! And library book sales are pretty much perfection. The money goes to a great cause and you get to walk out with yet another stack of books. Everyone wins!
